The Tampa VAMC (James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital) has openings for clinical, counseling, or rehabilitation psychologists.

 

SCI Inpatient and Outpatient Services:

This individual will join a team of four psychologists who currently provide mental health services to patients on our Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders Service.  Specific training in or experience with persons with spinal cord injuries is desirable.   The SCI/D Service provides inpatient care comprised of 100 inpatient beds including a vent-weaning unit and long-term care unit, as well as outpatient care to more than 1100 veterans in our active Registry.  The SCI/D Acute Rehabilitation Program is CARF accredited as is the Home Care Progressive Rehabilitation Program.  Patient characteristics vary considerably from the older WWII veteran to young active duty individuals injured in the Global War on Terrorism.  The incumbent will provide comprehensive psychological services throughout the continuum of care (inpatient and outpatient) referred for mental health needs. 

 

The Tampa VAMC has an active APA Accredited Psychology Internship Program, as well as a 2-year Clinical Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship Program that is also APA Accredited. In addition, we are in the first year of our new Rehabiliation Postdoctoral Fellowship.  The incumbent would be expected to particiapate in these training programs.  See websites:

Participation in active research studies and initiation of research projects is encouraged but not expected.

 

SALARY RANGE: 52,912.00 - 98,041.00 USD per year

SERIES & GRADE: GS-0180-11/13

POSITION INFORMATION: Full-Time  Permanent

JOB SUMMARY:  These positions are open until filled. The incumbent will function as a Psychologist at the James A. Haley VA Medical Center, Tampa, FL.  He/she will provide assessment, psychotherapeutic, intervention, training, education and research services.  He/she will be responsible for rendering professional opinions, choice of assessment techniques, and related methods and measurement procedures in specific areas.  The team will provide outpatient and inpatient services to their assigned patient population.

  • Specialized Education
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Licensure, Certification, or Registration required.
  • Federal employees must achieve time in grade to qualify
  • Must pass pre-employment examination.
