Michelle
Meade, Ph.D.
Dr. Meade is a licensed clinical psychologist
with specializations in health and rehabilitation
psychology. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed
journal articles related to issues of employment,
participation, health and health disparities
among individuals with SCI and other disabilities,
and has conducted workshops and presentations
at regional and national conferences on these
topics. She is on the editorial boards of Rehabilitation
Psychology and Topics of Spinal Cord Injury
and is a member of the Board of Directors of
the Old Dominion Chapter of the National Spinal
Cord Injury Association. She also serves as
Chair of The Research Committee for AASCIPSW,
and is on the Membership Committee of the American
Spinal Injury Association and the Professional
Education Committee for the VCU Institute of
Women's Health. Her research focuses include
health disparities, employment and community
re-integration after SCI, self-management, and
health behaviors and obesity after SCI.
