Elizabeth Letsch, PhD.
Dr. Letsch is a clinical neuropsychologist
with rehabilitation psychology
specialty training. She provides psychological
assessment and treatment to veterans and active
duty personnel with spinal cord injury and disorders
admitted into the acute rehabilitation program
of the SCI/D and Polytrauma Rehabilitation Centers
of the James Haley Veterans' Hospital in Tampa,
Florida. She also conducts comprehensive neuropsychological
evaluations for persons with SCI emphasizing impact on rehabilitation, independence, and community re-entry.
Her research interests include effectiveness
of group interventions in SCI rehabilitation,
and staff interventions for improving team dynamics
and nursing-patient interactions. Dr. Letsch
completed her doctoral degree in Counseling
Psychology at the University at Buffalo, and
completed fellowships at the University of Washington
School of Medicine (Clinical Neuropsychology)
and the Washington Institute for Mental Illness
Research and Training (Forensic Psychology).
She also serves on the Electronic Communications
Committee of the American Association of Spinal
Cord Injury Psychologists and Social Workers,
and actively participates in the training, mentoring,
and professional development of interns and
postdoctoral residents at the Tampa VAMC.
