Hess, Ph.D. ABPP(Rp)
Dr. Hess holds appointments as an Associate
Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine
and Rehabilitation, Department of Psychiatry,
and Department of Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth
University . He is currently the Inpatient Director
of Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology
at the Rehabilitation and Research Center. In
this position he serves in the role of clinician,
researcher and teacher. He is a Diplomate in
Rehabilitation Psychology, with expertise in
clinical neuropsychology. Dr. Hess is responsible
for the assessment and management of individuals
with spinal cord injury, brain injury, and other
chronic conditions and illnesses. Dr. Hess'
research has recently focused on the long-term
psychosocial outcomes of cancer survivors. He
also currently serves on the executive councils
of the APA Division of Rehabilitation Psychology
and the American Association of Spinal Cord
Injury Psychologists and Social Works.
