D. Corrigan, PhD, ABPP
John D. Corrigan, PhD, is a Professor and Director
of the Division of Rehabilitation Psychology
in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
at Ohio State University. Dr. Corrigan is the
founder and director of the Ohio Valley Center
for Brain Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation.
He also directs the TBI Network, a community-based
treatment program for substance abuse after
brain injury.
Dr. Corrigan serves on the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention's Advisory Council on
Injury Prevention and Control, and previously
served on the board of directors of the Brain
Injury Association of America and the Commission
on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities
(CARF). In Ohio, he has chaired the Post Critical
Trauma Care Commission and the Brain Injury
Advisory Council. Consulting roles have included
the Health Resources and Services Administration,
the National Data Center of the Traumatic Brain
Injury Model Systems, the Substance Abuse and
Mental Health Services Administration, and Eli
Lilly and Company.
Dr. Corrigan is board certified in Rehabilitation
Psychology and is a Fellow of Division 22 as
well as the American Congress of Rehabilitation
Medicine. In 2001 he received the William Fields
Caveness Award from the Brain Injury Association
of America for lifetime research contributions
to the quality of life of persons with brain
injury. He has been the recipient of Division
22's Distinguished Service Award, and the Roger
Barker Distinguished Career Award.Ê
Dr. Corrigan served as Division 22's President
in 2001-2002. He is in his second term on APA's
Committee for the Advancement of Professional
Practice (CAPP). Dr. Corrigan also served 12
years on the board of the Ohio Psychological
Association, including as President.
