Clinical Neuropsychologist

 

Memorial Hermann|TIRR is searching for a clinical neuropsychologist to join our Psychology/Neuropsychology Department.  This position involves following an inpatient caseload of persons receiving inpatient rehabilitation and conducting inpatient and outpatient comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations as needed.  Persons served include patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury, anoxia, spinal cord injury, and other neurological disorders.  There are also opportunities to participate in the training of postdoctoral fellows and graduate students and in our ongoing TBI research program.  In addition to the clinical position at TIRR, this opportunity could possibly lead to a faculty appointment in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine or the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

 

Qualifications:

-Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology; or Ph.D. in Psychology with post-doctoral training in Neuropsychology.

-Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in the State of Texas.

-At least 1 year of clinical experience.

-Expertise in working with brain-injury patients preferred.

-Prior experience in programmatic research, grant writing skills or potential, statistics, database management, clinical skills in assessment and intervention, ability to work in a team.

-Board certified in clinical neuropsychology or eligible for board certification.

-Training consistent with Houston Conference Guidelines.  Experience in providing psychological/neuropsychological services in a rehabilitation setting.
