JOB ANNOUNCEMENT:  Clinical Neuropsychologist or Rehabilitation Psychologist at the Drake Center in Cincinnati, Ohio

The Medical Psychology and Neuropsychology Department at the Drake Center has an immediate opening for a Clinical Neuropsychologist or Rehabilitation Psychologist with interest and experience working with individuals with traumatic brain injury.  Depending on the skills and interests of the candidate roughly two options are available:

  1. Option one would be equally split between inpatient and outpatient responsibilities. Inpatient responsibilities include working with another neuropsychologist on our 20-bed locked TBI/stroke unit in the evaluation and treatment of behavioral, emotional and cognitive concerns; participation in interdisciplinary team conferences; and supervision of psychology assistants, post-doctoral fellows and graduate students. The outpatient responsibilities include follow-up, outpatient neuropsychological assessment and treatment for these same patients.

      2. Option two would replace the outpatient neuropsychological assessment with work on one of our other specialty inpatient units and might include working with

patients with spinal cord injuries or other complex medical issues.

The Drake Center has close connections with the University of Cincinnati, and opportunities exist for those who would enjoy academic affiliation with multiple opportunities for clinical research, teaching and mentoring.  The candidate would join an active department of supportive colleagues which include six psychologists (3 full-time and 3 part-time).

The Drake Center is a 180-bed Long-Term Acute Care and Rehabilitation CARF and JCAHO accredited hospital, which is positioned with a 110-bed skilled nursing Facility and a 110-bed Assisted Living Center.  Drake also provides outpatient therapies and wellness programming in a wide variety of disciplines.

The successful candidate will have completed a PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology at an APA-accredited program and internship training site, and will have completed a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology or rehabilitation psychology or have equivalent experience. Prior inpatient rehabilitation experience with acute traumatic brain injury is important. Must be licensed or license-eligible in Ohio. Salary and benefits are very competitive. To apply, please forward a letter of interest, curriculum vita, and three letters of recommendation to Sarah Johnson, Department of Human Resources, Drake Center, 151 W.
